Eames
I'm such a lucky person having so many online-friends sending me nice pieces! Thanks to CM from My Realitty for this chair. It is broken, but it wasn't available in the shops I searched for it. I tried to glue it, but it is hard because the chair is heavy and the thingamabomb is so small. For a first shot I fixed it the way you see on the last foto. I really have to ask my son to help me.

the golden ratio
Update:
This is the post in Mini Modern, where I saw first the use of building blocks in a dollshouse. It was very inspiring to me and I want you to show:
Often when I try to make furniture from matchboxes or other boxes or when I need a piece of paper for the flooring of my rooms I noticed, that the things go so well together in their size. Two matchboxes are good for one sofa (the green sofa in the last scene is from covered matchboxes), a sheet of paper is good for the floor in my conservatory and so on.
When I worked as a hairdresser I often read about the golden ratio and tried to find out how to cut the hair with the golden ratio. I wanted to get to the bottom of the beauty and I had very interesting talks with my clients and others about this.
Today I googled for some 1:1 designer cabinets, because I have some more designer-chairs now and most of the cabinets I have are vintage or just boxes or too ordinary. I found a cabinet I like and resolved to try to build it and if I would fail to give an order to "pinchofpepper" or Elisabeth from ELF. I took my praline-box (my very first cabinet), some building blocks, but only for a study and sketch, but then was so happy to realize, that one thing fits to the other. The building-blocks to the box and a tic-tac-box as well. Some "dingsbums" by ikea - and ready!
I didn't measure it, but it MUST be the golden ratio!

The sofa is from pinchofpepper, I think I missed to present it so far, it came with the bedroom and other nice gifts she sent me a while ago. :-)

think pink!!!
For Jivan and Satyam: Thank you ...
... that you sold some of your toys to me. I hope your daddy will read this to you and I'm sure that very soon Jivan will read of his own, because he is a very clever little guy. How do you like the things I made of your stuff? Do you recognize it all? For example the little lamp on the side-table, do you know from what I made it?
Designer-furniture
I'm allways searching for beautiful designer-furniture in 1:1 that will match to my style. I often save photos and hope I'll eventually find the time for recreating them or someone who wants to do this for me. I still hesitate to give an order, when I havn't tried of my own yet. yesterday I plugged in a new router and it looks very cool, white and highgloss. The wall-holder for this rooter was nearly thrown away, but then I saw the potential for my dollshouse as a designer-furniture-piece. The dresser is made of building-blocks.

Attic
As Doreen allready said, it is possible to make a tiny attic-room in the greenhouses roof. Yesterday I couldn't stop with this house, I was even too busy decorating it to go outside as I planned!
uh oh, how addictive is this!
I learned a bit about the angle to fotograph through the plexiglas, but I think there is some more expierience needed. I'm very glad that during the last year some 1:24 furniture come along my collection, because even the lundby-scale items are too big for the attic.

This is the second version.
There is so less space that I had the idea to open the roof. Now there is a kind of roof-terrace.
I realized, that all this very small furniture was sent to me as a gift from Moretoview and Pinchofpepper. Some bits was part of a swap with Callsmall and some are playmobil.
It's nice that the blue bag and the micro-giraffes fits in every scale.

Dollshouse on the road
Most of you know that I live in a very small appartement and my two windows and balcony are to the southwest-side, so unfortunately I have no place to take pictures on the other side of the house. The view out of my window as a background for my dollshouses is fotographed so many times, that it is boaring for me. I often wanted to take one of my houses outside, but I was too lazy to put all the stuff in boxes or a bag and so it was only a dream to make fotos with nice backgrounds of my town or the nature, as it is possible with my dolls.
But yesterday I found this greenhouse in a shopwindow and allthough it was not cheap, I bought it for my dollshouse on the road. I wouldn't have bought it, if it hadn't had a carrying handle.

First I went a few stairs above and tried fotos out of the stairway-window, from there you can see the "Fernsehturm", our town's landmark. But I must build something to set the house, so my first trials was not as good as I hoped. But I took the house and walked around the 1:1 house I live in - here are the results. I'm looking forward to the next warm day when I go to the park with it ;-)

Spring
Finally Spring!
I went out with a cardigan today, yeah that is spring, I'm so glad the cold weather is gone.
I've got a plastic-bag in a big store and it has wonderful colours, so I tried to use it as a floor, but it was tricky to take fotos without reflexions of the sunlight.
I hope to find more time to post other pics soon.....

three days off
I found a little turtle in the charity-shop (which is on my way home from work) some days ago and totally forgot it in my bag.
This is typical for me, because I have to think of so many other things than my miniatures in the last weeks.
I enjoy this way of life very much.
To all my new followers and to the blogowners who's blogs I like to follow: I have look at all your new posts and pictures and even try to read the english text, but there is often no time to comment. Be sure I notice your progress, your success and the new things you buy, even your dailylife-sorrows.
I'm offline the holidays, visiting friends. At one of my last visits there I "bought" some stuff I found in the toys-box - like this little rabbit on the table, I painted it white.
So you can be curious what they want to sell this time!
I was looking for some Easter-decoration for this post, but I only found a kinder-egg. The watercolor on the wall is by me.
Lovely holidays to all of you who enjoy the resurrection of HIM!

some special days
do you know such special days with so many different things that happen? and then you come back and there are two packets in the mail?
Yesterday I found the stag (or deer? is there a difference?) and the frame. I think there would be perhaps a person who'd love to have these finds in a room she/he lives in. Everything is possible, you can imagine!
Today I've got the sweet apple-notebook, and finally the little Re-ment house and many more Re-ment bits in the mail! Thanks to Carol you wanted me to have a treat like this and thanks to Callsmall who sent the packet to me. A 3-person-swap!

The dentist
In the shop where I found the little hello kitty figures, I took a few very dirty items that was in a box with playmobil-items. okay, playmobil is too small, but I thought it could be a good furniture for a hairsalon and so I bought them and had a better look at it later. I noticed that it was a dentist surgery and so I tried to make one.
