Beleuchtung - lighting

Diese batteriebetriebene Leuchte habe ich in meinem ersten Raum als Deckenleuchte benutzt, aber sie war natürlich viel zu groß und plump. Als ich heute vergeblich auf Sonnenlicht für die Küche wartete, hatte ich die passende "Erleuchtung" - die Bilder sind wohl aussagekräftig.

These lamp with batterys I used in my very first room - but of course it is too big and plump. During I waited for sunlight for my kitchen I was "enlightened" - the pics may talk.

Licht - light

Weil ich das Spiel mit dem Licht so gerne mag und meine Boxen alle keine Fenster haben, habe ich in die Weinkiste, bei der es am leichtesten ging, nun ein Fenster gesägt. Glück gehabt, dass ein alter Bilderrahmen gerade gut als Fensterrahmen passte. Natürlich war ich zu ungeduldig, um auf die nächste sonnige Stunde zu warten und habe schönes Sonnenlicht mit Lampen imitiert - was eigentlich nicht geht.

ENG.:
I like playing with the light, but unfortunately all my boxes have no windows. In the wine-box it was easy to make a window and I found an old frame which fits perfect. I have not enough patience to wait for the next sunny hour, so I tried to imitate the sunlight, but shurley it's impossible.

Verschiedenes - miscellaneous

Diesen Stuhl hatte ich unter "Designermöbel" in der Bildersuche im Netz gefunden, er begeisterte mich total. Mein Nachbau ist aber nicht so gut gelungen, bei gutem Design kommt es schon auf jeden Winkel und Zentimeter an. Vielleicht versuche ich es nochmal.

This chair I found in the net (designer-furniture). I love the original (sorry forgot the source and cannot show it), but to build it was not so easy, because every Centimeter and every angle is very important. I will try it once again - perhaps.

Auch dieser reac-Stuhl kam aus England - ein bunter Stilmix.

Die Nähmaschinenhaube habe ich innen lila gestrichen - nachdem ich Kylies Haus von tarkus gesehen hatte, ging mir diese Farbe nicht mehr aus dem Kopf.
I painted the cap for the sewing-machine in purple. Since I saw Kylies house from tarkus it was allways on my mind.

Aus dem restlichen Leder der Geldbörse wurde noch ein kleines Täschchen und ein Sitzkissen.

Aus dem rosa Kasten habe ich einen Kamin gemacht.

Noch ein Sofa - another sofa

Dieses Sofa sieht super aus, finde ich. Da war es nur "irgendwie gefaltet", mit Stecknadeln fixiert und noch nicht geklebt. Durch das Kleben hat es leider etwas verloren, finde ich, aber das ist meistens so, dass Sachen zusammengefaltet und hindrapiert besser aussehen, als wenn man es fixiert.
So ist das halt!

ENG.:
I like this sofa. The fotograph was shot, when it wasn't yet glued. It was only somehow folded and fixed with pins. In my opinion the most things look better, when they are just folded and draped. They lose through the fixation.
That's life!

Mein Samstag - my saturday

Die gute Nachricht zuerst: ich war heute im Schwimmbad, bin Fahrad gefahren und also an der frischen Luft gewesen. Die "schlechte" Nachricht: Auf dem Heimweg kam ich wieder bei dem Trödelladen vorbei und habe ein paar Dinge gefunden.

Hat jemand eine Ahnung, was das auf dem ersten Foto ist? (Aktualisierung: Duschvorhang-Haken). Erscheint mir völlig sinnfrei, aber die Farben gefielen mir. Also habe ich es mitgenommen und noch dies hier:

Aus den ??? habe ich einen schicken Tisch gemacht, ich finde ihn stylisch! Beim Kerzenleuchter muss ich noch den Dorn für die Kerze entfernen, aber wie ein Couchtisch sieht er jetzt schon aus, passend zu den 60er-Jahre-Polstern.

Aus dem Federmäppchen habe ich diesen Sessel gemacht, d. h. das Material um einen vorhandenen Barbie-Sessel herumdrapiert. Und dann noch dieses Sofa! Auf dem Salzstreuer ist übrigens ein Stein, den ich mal in Schottland aufgesammelt habe - gibt doch auch eine Skulptur ab, finde ich.

Good news first: I was swimming and cycling today - so I took some breathes of fresh air! The "bad" news are, that I stopped by the second-hand-shop. I took some items and these on the first foto are without any sence for me - does anyone knows for what this is used? Well, I like the colours and took it with me. I made a table and it looks stylish to me ;-). The other table fits very good to the 60s-furniture, it is for candles and I have to remove the "dorn" in the middle, that holds the candle (puh, my English!!!). From the pencil-case I made the chair, I wrapped the fabric around a barbie-office-chair and the sofa. On the saltshaker there is a rock from Findhorn Scotland.

Skulptur

Heute hatte ich ein nettes Gespräch mit einer Frau in einem Laden für netten Schnickschnack. Unter anderem erzählte sie mir, dass die Holländer viel unverkrampfter mit Kunst umgehen und auch viel mehr Skulpturen aufstellen als wir. Dann schenkte mir mein Sohn zwei Kugeln, die er aufbewahrt hatte, weil er sich fragte, ob ich nicht etwas damit anfangen kann.
Aufgrund des Gesprächs fiel es mir leicht, sie zu etwas zu verarbeiten. Schließlich war meine Oma Holländerin!

I had a nice talk with a lady in a shop for nice things, decoration etc. She told me, that the Dutch people have a more joyfull and playfull way of living with art. They have much more often sculptures in their flats than the German. After this my son gave me two little balls and said, that he wondered if I could make something of it. Hey, after the talk with the lady it was easy for me to make a desicion, what to build: My grandmother was Dutch!

Ich war im Internet fündig geworden, denn ich suchte ein Sofa, das zweierlei für mich verband: es sollte kantig sein und von zeitloser Eleganz, aber auch etwas Heimeliges für mich repräsentieren. Genau so eine Garnitur hatte meine Oma nämlich früher gehabt. Schöne Kindheitserinnerungen.
Wegen des Ausrechnens der richtigen Proportion hatte ich mir erst große Sorgen gemacht, aber dann kam die Erleuchtung: Streichholzschachteln! So musste ich nicht messen und ausschneiden, sondern brauchte die Schachteln nur mit Stoff zu umkleiden. Was ich sonst noch machte, erklärt sich durch die Bilder von selbst, nur soviel: die Beine zu schnitzen war das Schwierigste!
Zuletzt muss ich sagen, dass ich doch ein wenig stolz auf mich bin und unheimlich Freude an diesem schönen Stück habe.

I looked after a sofa, which is edged and classic, but also loveable by me alone. I found the sofa, that my grandmother had in the Sixties. Nice memories of my childhood with grandma!
I first worried about calculating the right scale, but then the enlightenment: matchboxes! I don't have to measure and to cut out, I only put cloth around the matchboxes.What else I did is shown through the pics I think. But let me tell you that the caselegs was very difficult to make. I carved and sandpapered it. And I must say, that I am a little bit proud of myself and I really do enjoy this beautiful piece.

rote Seide - red silk

Mit einer roten Seide aus einem alten Kissenbezug habe ich nun das Sofa bezogen, der helle Stoff sieht mit dem schwarzen Gestell nicht gut aus. Insgesamt gefällt mir das Sofa zwar, ich wollte aber eigentlich etwas anderes, edleres machen, einen Dreisitzer. Aber da ich diesmal nicht ausgemessen und den Maßstab umgerechnet habe, ist es nicht gelungen. Aber es muss ja nicht mein letzes Werk gewesen sein.

ENG.: I made the cushions with a red silk from an old pillow, the white cloth didn't fit with the black frame. I like the sofa, but I would like to have one in more elegant style, I think it must have three seats for that. But I was too lazy to calculate the correct scale. So have to make more.

Sessel

In Alteras Blog hatte ich so einen tollen Sessel gesehen, von Paris Renfroe. Ich dachte mir gleich, dass der sicher nicht schwer nachzubauen ist, aber ich fand nicht das richtige Leder, das dünn und weich sein muss. Das Leder, was ich in der Restekiste eines Schusters gefunden habe, ist zu dick. Bis ich mal ein geeigneteres Leder finde, habe ich eine Frotteesocke drübergezogen....

In alteras blog I saw an amazing chair, from Paris Renfroe. Ich thought, that it would be easy to make such chair by myself, but i didn't found the right leather. The one I found in a box for little leather-pieces is too thick. Until I found a useable leather I put a black sock over....

Ausnahmsweise - As an exception

Diese Playmobil-Figur gab es zu dem Staubsauger dazu. Bevor sie in der Spielkiste meiner Nichte verschwindet, darf sie noch rasch den neuen Teppich im Schlafzimmer saugen.

This playmobil-figure was an addition to the vacuum cleaner. Bevor she is going to the toy-box of my niece, she is allowed to clean the new carpet in the bedroom.

Danke für Eure Kommentare. Hier seht Ihr, wie es mit dem Bad weitergegangen ist: Die blaue Farbe war etwas zu dunkel, da der Raum ja kein Fenster hat. So habe ich noch mit weißer Farbe drübergewischt. Die Fugen habe ich mit Vogelsand gefüllt und dann alles mit Holzleim überpinselt. Ich musste scheußlich vorsichtig sein, weil zwischendurch alles zusammenklebte und ich schon bereute, dass ich nicht doch die Fliesen vorher am Boden festgeklebt habe. Soviel zum Thema Geduld! Jetzt trocknet der Leim gerade....

Thank you for your comments. Here you can see the progress in the bathroom. The blue colour was too dark to me, so I smudged over it with withe colour. I put sand for a birds-cage allover and the I covered it with wood-glue. I had to be very carefull with this and it would have been better to glue the tiles on the floor before, but I wasn't in the mood to put them in the room two times - ha! that's about my patience.

Aus einem Polly-Pocket-Kästchen habe ich ein Wandhaus in etwas erwachseneren Farben gemacht, war ja alles in türkis und rosa. Kann vielleicht noch besser präsentiert werden, mal sehn.


I coloured a Polly-Pocket-Box in darker colours - it was in turqouis and pink. Perhaps I will find a better way of presentation soon.

Fliesen - tiling

Ich habe im Moment ziemlich viele Baustellen - die grünen Eames-Stühle sind da, damit wollte ich einen Friseursalon machen, dann eine Küche für die tollen Küchengeräte und für die habe ich auch die Fliesen gekauft. Als ich aber entdeckte, dass sie nicht quadratisch sind, verließ mich etwas der Mut, ein ordentliches Fliesenmuster an die Wand zu bekommen. So habe ich sie ins Bad geschüttet und wild verteilt. Ich überlege aber noch, ob ich sie so wirklich "verlegen" soll.
Vielleicht sagt ihr mir mal eure Meinung dazu. Ich weiß auch nicht, ob ich die Wände streichen oder ebenfalls fliesen soll.

I work on too much projects together: the green chairs from reac arrived, I want to set up a barbershop with them, then i want to build a kitchen for my famous kitchen-items and so I bought tiles (or flags? don't know, whats korrect) for the kitchen wall. but when I recognized, that the tiles are not squarish, I lost patience and put them all together in the bathroom. Do you think, I can fix them in this style? I am not shure. I wonder if I should paint the walls or tile them too.
