Dekupiersäge - Mechanical fret-saw
My swap with Nicola this spring at the fair in Soest. I got these lundby-kitchen, but the chair and table was missing some legs.
This is what I took home from my visit in a recreation-center. I worked for the first time with a fret-saw. I discovered a notice where I read, that a group of people working with wood (mainly turnery) wanted to grow. I visited them and asked for help. The (very) old men was very kind and enjoyed of course helping me. It is all free, I can make some pieces for the bazar or a cake for my new fellows. It is really a pity that I haven't took fotos yet, they are all so wonderful with white beards.
The gentleman who told me (eagerly) how to use the fret-saw was a retired teacher. Afterwards he was a bit dissapointed, because I made better cuts than he (his eyes are much older than mine). It was so moving. I sawed this 3 legs from a wooden box.
At home I sanded and glued and painted the whole chair.
The glue at the end of the legs is easy to remove with nailpolishremover.
The leg should have the same size than the other ones, this is how I tried to manage it:
You can hardly imagine how much fun this was!
