waiting for the postman

my last ebay-find was this extraordinary sideboard - I'm totally in love with it - and a lot of other stuff I do not like or need AND a matching wardrobe. but the wardrobe wasn't in the parcel and the seller promise to send it.

haha, just in the moment I wrote this the postman arrived with a letter....

I was surprised the matching wardrobe was so small, but it is wonderful for my lundby-house, I will make fotos immediatly:

....

I think one of my best pieces!

Cocktail-Chairs

For a long time I was searching for such chairs, they are so costly at ebay or very odd. This were only 1 €.

The ebay-seller made the fotograph in a way that I could not see the legs were not the original ones. But I had enough mikados from my villa-sibi-crafting and so new legs was no great thing!

I ask for the measures very seldom, I take what I get, but I never had thougt that this chairs would be good for lundby - so small. I will try to make a cover in a cyclam-pink (I have an old t-shirt in this colour), but it is okay in the original colour too.

It was hard for me to make a scene that makes me feel good, but I am pleased to have more vintage furniture for my lundby-extension floor - unexpected!

About the light / lighting

There was a question about the light I use. I think the nicest fotos are shot, when the sun shines through the window.
Well, in this post I showed the results with my daylight-lamp, an LED-lamp and without lighting. But very often I use the fotoshop that came with the Picasa3 I downloaded free for organizing my fotos and work with it. Here are some examples what I do with the - very easy - fotoshop:

There are some fotos that don't need any fotoshopping, but a special cutting to look better
like this.

Some fotos are too dark, but it is okay because of a special athmospere:
like this

If you have any special questions, feel free to ask me. I am learning by doing, but like to share my experience!

About my "new" Midcentury sideboard

Some of you liked one of my last sideboards and asked about the material. Here are some fotos of this plastic-box (that came with a vintage sewing machine 1:1 for the little tools).

I think you do not need any explanation:

Some new furniture

This is the next auction I won for a rather good price. I was mainly interested in the green chair in the background - and it is as nice as expected, perhaps a little big. I'll sell the two chairs in the background, I have similar ones, and one of the red chair. I will show all the vintage items I like to sell, when everything arrived.

ooops, I did it again...

.... my last ebay-shot.
sigh
I don't want, but.....only 5,49 €

Some new furniture

I won this vintage pieces on ebay. I have to confess, that I payed too much, but I was so in love with the cocktail-armchairs and lost control ;-)
They turned out to be grey instead of white and all this furniture looks very much "plastic", you cannot see it on the fotos.
But I'm quite happy with it, I have never seen such chairs before and I like them. I tried severeal scenes to present them to you, but I decided to show you all trials:

AWARDS

Today I want to do what I planned for a long time. Some of us like the awards, but some of us do not like the chain-letter-system coming with the awards. I am not a fan of following the rules too. But Rebecca gave me an award a few weeks ago I apprechiate very much: My award

I have done all my housework yesterday together with my daughter (and afterwards we had italian pasta and pizza), so today there is time for paying forward this award. Because I am no more a big reader, but love films, I want to tell you something of my favourite films with this award-thing.

First person is the incredible Pubdoll. I was looking for a film with fantasy as in her stories about the dolls, with witty speech, with love for the work and unexpected outcome. So it wasnt hard to find such a film, and I love it very much:
Ein Fisch namens Wanda

(sorry that I do not post any pictures, I know, such a post is not so interesting, but I'm not sure what is allowed and what not).

Second is Callsmall. I love not only her blog with pictures of furniture I like - we have the same taste indeed -, I especially love the stories of her childhood in NY, of her family affairs, and... this is the name of the tv-series I chosed for her:
Family Affair

(and sorry that I do not link the winners of the awards, I think you all have a bookmark to their blogs)

Doreen is one of my first followers and she is such a kind and friendly person. I enjoy watching her post that shows her skills in making furniture with her own hands, but I like to see the wonderful landscape she lives in. That reminds me of a film I also like so much, not only because of the wonderful actors, but there is such a nice landscape and lake:
On Golden Pond

The wonderful Rebecca. There was no second of hesitating which film is for her. I absolutely adore this film, but I'm afraid it is only available in german language. This film is about a journey of a former ddr couple and her daughter to Rom. The husband has a book of Goethe and reads what Goethe wrote on his own journey to Rom in some parts of the film/journey. It is a very funny film, but never silly because of the wonderful actors and the Goethe-parts. I would love you could see this film, Rebecca. I know you would love like me:
Go Trabi Go

Next is Petitenouveau! Oh, I miss her posts and hope she is well. A lot of work to do, Christy? I cannot say exactly, what is the reason for selecting this film, but it was the first that came to my mind and there was no doubt. I love your outlook and so I love this film, enjoy!
Sweet home alabama

I often told Annina, that her pictures reminds me of a Hitchcock-movie. There is some tension it in, I cannot explain, but it is a very strong feeling and strikes me all the time I look at her artwork-fotos. So my favourite Hitchcock-film is:

Pay it forward

One of my favourite films since the 70s, when I watched it with my husband, is the film I want to give to Modern MC. It is /she is classic - no more is to say.
Star Wars

Allthough she isn't at this stage in the moment, I want to include Altera. I love her style and I miss her. Hope she will read this at least. I'm a fan of the sixties style and there is no film I have seen so often as this one (because it is repeatet shown in tv again and again):
Pillow Talk

The last award goes to a lady I got to know not long ago. I like her style and I like her ideology, she shows a bit of it in her wonderful blog. So a film for the heart and for the people who believes, that there is just more (so do I). Please visit Lizes blog! Her film is:
As it is in heaven

I hope you all had fun reading this award-list and I hope you are not sad if you are not mentioned. I read many more blogs and there is something I apprechiate in every blog. I want to thank you all for the connection and the love i feel behind fotos and words.

sideboard

Update: here is a similar sideboard on german ebay at the moment. If you need help, don't hesitate to email me: link to ebay

Actually I like sideboards much more than cupboards - in real life too. The reason is that I can put some decoration or a dollshouse-roombox or such things on it easily. So I am allways watching the sideboards on ebay and if I can get one for small price I am happy. Unfortunately there is often some other stuff that come with a nice sideboard, so that I have a lot of cupboards or furniture I do not like. This dark red sofa and chairs in the 70s-style was not my taste, but after taking a few pictures I am not sure - perhaps I can keep them and have a good use for them.

this was the eby-auction.

moss and lamp

Last week I found a little piece of moss in my bike-basket.I saw, that it has the perfect size for my table and would be a perfect advent-decoration.
Today three modern lundby-lamps arrives and I was able to set the moss into the right light.

I need a massage

I am so tired from work, but I made a very quick and easy scene with my new massage-bench. I would like to shrink to 1:16 and feel well on it....

Brandy Playter

Doreen (doreensminiatures.blogspot.com) introduced her new dog Brandy as a Maltese and now she found out, that Brandy is no Maltese, but a Shinh tzu. I googled about Shinh tzu and found out, that it will have very long hair as a grown-up and I realized, that I had such a dog in my pets-collection as well as a white Maltese.
This coincident makes me (smile and) think of a nice way to present the two and I decided to show you a current german womens-lifestyle-magazin that shows christmas-presents in a wonderful decoration: with a lot of dollhouse-minis in the modern style.
I think you all should see this. Have fun!

1. Advent

When I wanted to go to bed...

... last night my view catched the daylight lamp on my windowsill and I checked out, how fotographs by night will turn out with it. So I put a few things together: One of my first fimo-creations was the sewing-machine-rack. In the seventies nearly every young girl had such a rack as a table - but nobody wanted to sew. So I didn't care that I had no matching sewing-machine, but with a swap I got one and so the sewing-room is nearly ready. In most german houses there is often not enough space for a sewing-room and a room for the grandchildren staying over night. So I decided to put the Barbie-bed, that come back to me with my dolls, beside the sewing-scene. And then I sleeped very well!

more from maggi

Here are some pics maggi sent me. Believe it or not: the first pic (little house) shows a 1:144 work, selfmade by maggi. I'm impressed.

light

When we worked on the steeltube-chairs my son gave me a daylight-lamp and I didn't used it since this day.
Today is a very dark day, it is 3.30 and nearly dark. So I tried the new lamp. First shot: without lamp, second: with LED light, third: with the new daylight-lamp. I think it's better, because the pics are not so yellow. I can change depending on what result I want.
I don't know if I have shown this cupboard before, it is an ebay-find and came with the armchairs.

this is not mine

Maggi watches my blog and is interested, because she has miniatures and collected and loves them for many years. She is a great miniature-worker too. But she has no blog, instead showed me some of her pics via email. This foto is worth to be shown to the world, what do you think?

leftovers, gifts, swaps

I like the challange to set up a scene with all the stuff I got during the week. This week I felt too bad to work (to much stress) and was at home two days. my daughter (and workmate) made a gift for me (two very small gift-packets) and it waited for me on my desk (on the self-made sofa for presenting) when I returned on thursday.
This week a packet from More2view arrived, I made a small Villa Sibi for her and she sent me this wonderfull triple lamp (by Minimodernistas) and a Mexican rug and a sweet little armchair with matching shelve. I love all of this wonderful swap-items.
Today katimus brought me the picture on the wall and a few tiny balls for the christmas-tree. The "Adventskranz" is from a swap with petitenouveau, I decorated it for the season. the silver shelves on the walls are gifts from my son, he has allways such stuff that remains from his work for me.
Oh, and the guitar is a gift from callsmall (given to me short after my surgery with the thyroid).
I am a happy woman!

Introducing Midge

I want to introduce Midge. Inspired by so pretty fashion-doll-fotographs I found between the miniature-pics on flickr I startet to make fotos of my fashion dolls. They was with my niece a few month but now she gave them back to me, because she didn't like to play with.
If you are interested, I will show the Midge and Barbie pics on flickr.

New followers

In the beginning of my blog I used to make a flower arrangement with real flowers for each new follower, it was fun to make it for me. But meanwhile there are so many new followers and not everybody has an own blog or a profile-foto, so I lost the overview, who is really new.
This is the time we can see a lot of annual reviews in tv and so I take the chance and say hello and welcome to my new followers and everybody with a review.
Here are my real-blossoms-pictures of the year 2009!

Emil Nolde

In the 80s after my divorce I had my watercolor-period. Every evening, when my children were in their beds, I tried to copy famous pictures I like. This one hanging on the wall (in my dollhouse-period) is inspired by Emil Nolde.
Allthough it is not good behaviour I must say, that I love this painting and I am sad, that I gave it away. But I'm lucky to have a professional fotograph of it.

Award

I received an award from aru
Thank you very much - I'm honored and I love the connection with you and other wonderful bloggers!

a wonder

IMG_2453, ursprünglich hochgeladen von pinchofpepper

I can't explain how impressed I am:
look at this massage-bench - it is ready!!!!
I will have it in my wellness-space in a few days - may the uk-post help!
I am so pleased, isn't it wonderful? I have never seen such a miniature before, and it is mine, mine mine!!!!

"my" bedroom

It is not my desire to have a bedroom with pink hearts on the wallpaper - but I have no idea how to change the walls. and perhaps I need a childrens room one day, who knows. So I tried to make a bedroom with pink hearts:

and this is the whole house I would like to live in, but I need a stair and hope to get some lego-bricks soon to make it.

wellness

Mealwhile it looks like this in my big room:

Now I am happy to have enough space for a room which is only for wellness: yoga and meditation, massage and dancing or just laying on the floor and dream.

but... laying on the floor - if for dreaming or a massage - was good in my younger years, but for a lady over 50 years it is better to have a massage-bench like this:

and jipphiehyeah! pinchofpepper (a flickr-contact) is going to make such a bench for my new wellness-space! I am so pleased.

voila!

extension floor

surprisingly one day after I ordered it the extension floor for my lundby arrived today. allthough I'd have a lot of other things to do I painted the wall of the big room, because I do not need a children' s room and do not like this wallpaper for the livingroom or hairsalon or museum room or office or ..... oh! there are so many possibilities.
I chose a light grey and covered a mixture of silver, birdscage-sand and light pink colour over it with a sponge. On the fotos I made for trial it looks pretty good to me, hope it is as nice when totally dry and the walls are put together.
see you later!

deep deep sun

I'm very pleased about the fact to have much more power, since I take my thyriod-hormons every day. I have even enough power for dating after work. yesterday I was in the cinema: 2012. I do not want to tell you something about the film, but I took a few really nice free postcards;-)
one of them you can see in the "tri-ang" room.
this morning I realized, that the sun is now so deep in on the sky, that she hits even my lundby house. a few month ago I put it on another place for making fotos with the sunlight on it. today I shot a few fotos of the usual saturday-morning-mess.

glasses cleaning cloth

I had no new glasses for years, but yesterday I bought a new one and got a cloth in the eyeglass-case, as usual. but it was - unusual for me - black and in a new kind of material, so soft and cosy and an ideal piece for my dollshouse, because it is not so stiff as the most fabrics I have. I could immediatly imagine a wonderfull bedding with it. and here it is:

Sonntag, 15. November 2009

lazy sunday

I was sooo lazy this weekend - only a few miniatures-scenes and laying on my sofa - wonderful

I love this two white plastic-chairs I won on ebay for 1 €, but I didn't find a good use for it. Now they have to be only decorative!
petitenouveau helps with the idea of a lampshade - these white cups / caps she sent me are so useful in many cases.

I found this picture today, I think it's Hundertwasser, love the colours that I would never use together in reallife.

armchair

this morning I made a new armchair. it was an armchair of my Villa Eichhorn, I only covered it with a lot of glue and fabric. Just when I finished it, the sun came out.

Samstag, 14. November 2009

what is more fun than ...

... a packet arriving with nice stuff for the dollshouse in it?

Update:
I disliked this stairrail since I had this house, but I had no idea for a change. today I had the currage to cut it off and give the room a kind of new wall, where a shelve can hang. In this small rooms not so bad. I wanted to show you the bar with the matching stools, but I like the way it stands before the wall as a simple sink-unit too.
I cutted the tabletop of the blue table with my saw, it was a piece of plexi my son gave me. Do you like the legs from my toolsbox?

swap with petitenouveau

this is the scene I made with petitenouveaus wooden sofa and chair and a few of her extras she put into the packet. I have absolutel no idea, what the "dingsbums" on the sidetable is, but it is nice. the book is for traveling minifans: "where is the next miniature-shop" in a few languages.
I found the small violine on the table last week in a charity-shop.
the art on the wall is a christmas-card made by katimus.

peek

this weekend seems to be great:
I have some plexiglass and metal strips my son gave me to make minis of it.
I have a packet that arrived from petitenouveau.
I have a new lundby kitchen bar - arrived this week.
I have enough time to make nice scenes and no dates!
but first things first and so I allow you only a short view with a few of the items I mentioned.

Dienstag, 10. November 2009

customer order

I made this tiny villa sibi once again for a flickr-member who asked me. It's funny to make things because of customer order - it's a new experience for me. Now I'm waiting for my swap!!!

Mauerfall

Today I visited my son for our project with the chairs. First he told me that it would be too hard for him and that he hasn't got the right tools. But I told him he would be able and ...

... now I have four OOAK-chairs - everyone is a bit different. but I love them much more than the one I could have bought from reac.
My chairs can tell a story of a nice evening with my son at the day of "Mauerfall". He presented me a lamp which imitates sunlight (95 % like real sunlight), for making fotos in the evening, but I think I will not be able to work on my minis tonight, because my eyes are allways full of tears, when I watch tv. And so it was 20 years ago. I remember this time with watching tv and cry, cry, cry....
So good to cry because of beeing touched.
The chairs can wait - I will make the seats in the next days.

Sonntag, 8. November 2009

Samstag, 7. November 2009

during "wetten dass"

the coffee table the seller sent me today with the other items is too large for the chairs and sofas I have allready, but okay for a dining-table or desk. My coffee-table is a cream-jar.
I think the reac-chairs work well in both scenes in 1:12 and lundby.

I like the grey and brown colours in this scene. the postcard shows the "speicherstadt" in hamburg.

it's the same nearly every saturday.....

... I am full of intention to clean my flat and do the housework untill --- the postman arrives with packets for me. so here a very quick view to my new 60s-style-treasures. I saw such armchairs in anninas fotostream and never hoped to find similar on ebay, but I did. I'm so happy, allthough everything is very dirty. So I have to clean big and small furniture....

padding-room?

I feel a bit uncreative the last days. I have a few new items - but don't know what to do with it. This is my desperate try to use all my new finds: the doll without legs and head (Euroshop), the placemat with the grey-pattern (nearly like saltandpepper, I would like to cover armchairs with it), the big shelve (comes with the "steeltube"-gardenfurniture).
I am not good in sewing and don't even have a mini-sewing machine, but I made a kind of sewing room. I am better in padding and so this could be a padding-room? however....

miniatuurkermis

seen and fotographed today in my town.

the rest

I've sold most of my furniture I didn't need or I made swaps. Here are some pieces I keep and I'm very happy with, like this lamp or clock. I can use them in very modern scenes too.

I think most of my followers will know, where I found the inspiration for this sofa......

new chairs

today this garden-chairs arrived with the matching table. an ebay-find/former ddr.
I hope I'll be successfull - I want to pimp them. look at my dream-chairs, perhaps my work will look similar. I'm not sure.....

found on miniarcs blog

found on ebay - unfortunately much to costly for me - I love this furniture

renovation

I decided spontaneously to paint the walls in the lundby-house again, because they was so dark-stained from the glue I used before I found the blue-tack. I used the same colour, mixed with white sand for bird-cages.

I splitted one of the cupboards and used both parts in this little scene. what a great find. I will strip the paint from the other one to have an ikea-look and the third one may stay as it is.

All Souls Day

In the tradition I grew up this day is a holyday, we think of the people, who are dead. We make up her graves with flowers and especially with lights. My whole life I liked cemeteries. I visited my grandmother's grave and had so nice konversations with her. I don't believe in death!
This morning in the dawn - I am an early bird - I tried to make a cemetery-scene in my flower-pot on my balcony.

to all my new followers

I lost the overview - and will give you all together a welcome to my blog with a few pics of the last days or older, I found while cleaning up my folders and I think, I havn't shown them before.
Have fun and thank you very much for watching my pics and perhaps even reading my stuff ;-)
I enjoy to get to know so many new blogs through this follower-thing.

sofa and cupboard from minimum world - arrived this week

I like the outlook- picture on the wall a gift from katimus

new fabric with transfer paper

Before Pubdoll sent me some wonderful fabrics with small patterns I allways searched for fabrics with modern and small patterns, this was hard.
A workmate has a bag in a fabric I like and I ask her to take a fotograph of this bag. Then I resized it, put pretty much of this beside in a word dokument and printed it on a transfer-paper, afterwards I took my iron and ironed it onto a light fabric. I'm quite happy with the result about the colours, but it is so very inflexible and has no cosy outlook. But I think on the foto it is okay.
By the way, I'm searching for two bedstands for this bed and wasn't successful yet. I have two cream-jars, they work, sometimes I take a chair, but the most bedstands are too big and I didn't found any lundby-sized I like. If anyone has an idea or a link to a good find - you're welcome :-)

I stole the idea with the painting from a person I met on the fair I visited in spring. Today I tried it and it is true: the paintings look more real printed/ironed on cloth.

What happened

I like to make scenes with the things that came together, like the little red armchair and the elizabeth taylor by warhol. So it's easy to make a decision.
Today I had half a day off and came home in the sunshine instead of beginning darkness - wonderful. There was a packet with a very cheap ebay-find and a postcard my aunt wrote. I'm not a big fan of the telephone, and in this days when my voice is bad after the surgery, I never use it. So I got more and more postcards from the people around - I like it and will write some this weekend too.
And here is the little scene I made before my housework is calling!

btw the chairs are vintage german, more 70s than 60s I think, but I like the shape. I saw such chairs a few month ago in the mini modern blog and before I never touched this mini- world and was sure, something like this would only be available in USA. Never had heard of former DDR furniture for dollshouses. Here is the scene MC made.

Tausendschön und Kinkerlitzchen = daisies and trinkets

... is the name of the shop, where I bought the figure in the corner - I cannot translate it, perhaps Pubdoll can? Or katimus? It was a gift from Oese to Oese, because my week was/is very hard, I'm allways tired, but don't want to stay at home, so I go to work an sleep and go to work and sleep and ....
I sold a lot of things on the flea-market last sunday - and bought some, like the wardrobe (polly pocket), the rocking horse, the teddy and the Noah's Ark by playmobil micro. I wanted it for a long time and got it for 4 €, that was okay.

During this week a packet arrived from minimum world - I orderd the dressers I saw in petitenouveaus blog - and added a few items, because there were so cheap. I like most the little transistor radio in light blue, so cute. For the grey sofa and some other things I had no idea/no power to make a scene. That's unusual for me - but there will come the right time for it.

Freitag, 23. Oktober 2009

Anyone interested?

I purchased a second little railway-house, because it is so good to transform into a mini-vero-dollshouse and I guess/hope anyone of you would like to have it and to make a swap with me.
I could give it as it is on this foto or modified as I did with the first one, just like you want.

I need a loupe...

... for my next needlework - and I'm sure there will be a next - it's fun to make pillows.

first I planned to make a 1:12 pillow and did the maths for it. but it seems too big, so I fold it to a smaller one. I'm better in embroidery than sewing with hand, but I can hide the not perfect parts of the pillow.

I decided to make an oblong and no squarish pillow, because i don't remember to have seen squarish pillows in my childhood. they came with the 70s.

Autumn

Two brown leaves on the ground I picked up and a sort of flyer in my postbox for christmas-sweeties: it must be autumn.
So there should be a bit of it in my scenes and so I took the flyer and a scissor:

There's a light

for ARU this time. Thank you Aru, for beeing my new follower. The time for the real blossoms is nearly over, the time for candles just begins. There is a dark corner in my dollshouse and I had no lamp for this part of my flat, so I used candles for the first time to enlighten it, and I think I will do it some more times.
Hope you enjoy beeing here!

flea-market

Next sunday I'll go to the big flea-market in our park - the last in this year. But this time not to search for minis, but I wanted to sell them.
It is my first time and I'm very excited and wondering, how it works. My daughter will come with me, we both hope the wonderful autumn-wether will stay until then.
Here I show you a few impressions of my great cleaning and storage-work of this morning. Becuase I am allways very curious about how other people store their minis I think some of you will be interested in.

cookie cutter

I met my doctor today, I'll be able to go to the office next monday, the scar looks better from day to day and I feel better than a week before. It was a wonderful sunny autumn day and I had a little walk to the underground and I found a nice cookie cutter. Have you found it?

thank you very much, mr. postman

I actually wanted only this nightstands for my lundby-house as dressers. but the matching bed and wardrobe were so cheap, that I took them all together.

thank you, mr. postman

my latest ebay-find arrived - a bit costly, but I'm a real fan of the 60s style...

Montag, 19. Oktober 2009

Welcome to my new followers!

Lindsey and Casita Minis, I enjoy having you here and hope you have fun and relax......

Like a Vero...

A railway-model-house, which was a shop for fotos and cameras before - I found a pic online.
Inside of this houses is allways cardboard/paper, printed with drapes and shopwindow-items etc. I put this all away to have a free sight through the house. My used version has no signs like this on the foto. When it was naked I thought it looked a little bit like the Vero-houses and so I painted the grey part like them.

I'll be the one with the most dollshouses soon :-P

I was in the railway-model-shop and I really found all of my internet-research. The nice modern house sadly was too big, 19 cm one side, the containers was perfect in the size for a minidollshouse even in the lundby-house, but .... they was expensive, I'd have to build it with glue and they do not look so paris-renfroeish as I hoped in reallife. Perhaps I will purchase them next month. Today I took three houses allready built up, used and very cheap. Two of them you can see in this scene, I like the green one most, it is an old house for train-dispatchers.

the fotograph on the wall is an artwork from Michael Paul Smith. I met him on flickr and he allowed me to take his wonderful art of modelling on my dollshouse-walls.

The housewife is very tired from cleaning the house, because monday is the day, when the cleaning woman comes *ggg*

the good friend

What a good friend a camera can be!
Even the ugliest things can be pretty in the right light and angle. So I tried to make some pics of the cubes-house and some other of my minis are displayed in this room.

how do you like this dollshouses?

I found all these lovely "houses" on this site for railway-models. look here.
Some will not be in the right scale, but I try to get some of these. After working on my art-deco and cubes-dollshouses in 1:144 I am frustrated.

very slow progress with my dollshouses

This house (ebay uk) inspired me to make a mini-version of it, because there is no thouht of purchasing such houses in its real size for me - sigh. As I told you, I was not very happy with the result of my first shot. Because I had no red paint, I tried to use tape, but that doesn't look good on a close view. And I realized: my workroom for minis was very messy and to small.

I promised to show more pics of the house and here they are with the tape. There was another synchronizity, because in the next morning I saw a tv-report about TAPE-ART!
I've never heard about that before.

I bought some red color and these stuff, hoping the second shot would be better.
but I am not content with the 2. result, too.
The boxes for toothpicks - very cheap, so I bought a lot - inspired me to make another house - so that the unfinished projekts grew to more and more.....;-)

I'm not sure if I'll be in the mood for working on this projects in the next time - but let's see what happens.

traditional bedroom

Update sunday morning: I realized that I never had or liked a bedroom like this, there was more living in my/our bedrooms and so I changed a few things:

some more unfinished project cleared

In the museum-shop I found this postcard, it waits for beeing tiles some day. the day is today.

I recovered the cream paint from this sink, it was hard work, but I like it and I like the result.
this cabinet came with the 1930-house and without a door, so it is hard for me to find a good use for it, but in this scene it works I think. Again a mix of styles, perhaps there are a few young people living together here...

this was an orange Bodo-Hennig-chair and I don't like orange so much - except combined with turquoise.

the lilac chair came with the modella kitchen in a very ugly green, in this lilac I like it more and it looks more like a wooden chair than like a plastic. The turquoise chair is Modella too. Because I have 5 red-white chairs allready and because the new ones was very dirty, I painted them too.
The Bodo-Hennig Shelve has the same color as the chair.

the wooden chair (1930 house, painted red and white before) was a hard work too, but I like the result.

I was busy

to cover the chairs with cloth is a bit difficult - hands full of glue - but this matchbox-sofas are soooo easy to make! everyone can do it. it was harder to find the perfect fabric. this is, like the first time I made such a sofa, silk. it's more expansive, but the result is better than with cotton.

the empty room filled

I love to have an empty room in a house, this one in the lundby-kitchen (never used as a kitchen) was very cosy for me with only a few items in it.
But today my order from UK with a TRIANG-chair arrived AND a gift from Callsmall - guess what it is?

I was a bit shocked, because the chair is sooo small and I picked my very small shelves, that would go with it well. One of them was in this turquoise colour, that doesn't match to many other things. But today everything turned out to be perfect. Callsmalls postcard with the red lips of the woman and the background in the perfect same colour as the shelve - I am happy!
The room is not full of furniture - as I like it. What a great day.

Suzan Geridönmez,

... after a few days (I need for a new idea) I want to give you a flower-welcome. So nice you follow my blog, thank you very much.

There are no flowers on my balcony, I haven't shown yet, so I tried to make an ikebana-style arrangements with natural and plastic flowers.

Hope you like it, it's only for you!

counter area shrift

When I am in my shrift I often think it is a good theme for miniatures. every year a new design, lot of glass and chrome and extraordinary ideas. looks like they have enough money for designers - not like me :-(
My counter area isn't such hightech, but hopefully makes a secure athmosphere for the customers.

by night

Allthough I am in the mood for making a new scene, no idea comes to me - so I made some familiar settings and I think that's part of the healing - like chicken broth.

fabrics

lovely pubdoll presented me some fabrics with very very small patterns and I enjoy, because they are hard to find! I have a lot of fabrics in my drawers and they wait to be cushions or bedspreads or chairs. We will see, what happens this week, when I am at home. I have two cocktail-armchairs to be covered with cloth and I tried some of my new and old, which one should I take?

unfinished projects

Yeah! Cocco, Pubdolls friend (and NOT a doll), was soooo nice to make such a seven-chair for me. Thanks a lot, Cocco! You're the best! I realized, that it is not the best time to make new scenes and guessed, that the reason is, there are too many unfinished projects. So I put all my stuff out of the drawers, which I wanted to bring to an end "one day"....
here is the cheerless result:

Off topic

Today I made a chicken broth for me. I like to eat such traditional meals when (kind of) ill.

Because I had not the right herbes, I put sage, tarragon and dill in the soup, that was, what I found in my cupboard. Wow, thats unusual, but good! You must try it. But don't take so much, only a little bit.

I want to thank all of you for your beeing here with me.

modella kitchen

the nice red table was the reason for me to bid on this vintage-furniture. I love it, allthough it is not such glossy as I expected. on this picture you can see a few items I swapped with corset kitten from flickr - all the pink items and the wonderful candleholders.

the chairs are not so pretty, but I have 5 other red chairs that matches with this table.

I really like the fact that my theo-kline-kitchen pieces are 100% fitting to this size of kitchen. there are ugly areas too, but I can hide it.

the brand "modella" on the door of the fridge.

yellow bathroom

I won this furniture on ebay ...

... and I was - for the first time - disappointed about the condition.
the seller promised me to pay back a part of the price, so I'm content with the deal,

... especially because the items look very good on pics, you cannot see that the white is cream and the other "mistakes". it's vintage!

(I was in a hospital for a few days, they took away my thyroid, but now everything is okay and I have a little resting time, so I can make a few scenes with my new items and build a few things between sleeping and getting well.)

Bungalow

I like these dollhouse-designer-bungalows I saw on Modern MCs site and on flickr and I tried to rebuild them in 1:144 too.
But now I realized, that my Villa Eichhorn has this potential too. It is very versatile. I would love to live in two rooms with a porch and windows to all sides - like this.
the lundby-size furniture makes the impression of more space once again.

50 people all around the world

clicked "follow these blog" and I am very pleased to have so many followers now. The last three was Chinita Bonita, Alison and Miniaturista. It's an honor for me. thank you all for your nice comments or qiet watching, you're welcome in any case.
men's faith is the translation for this summer-flower, that enjoy the warm and sunny days in autumn. I picked them for you all and have a lot of fun making still-life pictures. here are some of the pics I made for having enough to chose the one I like for your welcome-post.
thanks again!

for meetings and after-lunch-sleep

I'm not sure if it was a good idea to paint these little red chairs. I had to cover it again and again and the result is not so good.
Inspired by Callsmalls last scene I wanted to make a workspace I would apprechiate. I would like to have a room for myself, but for the meetings and a little sleep in the lunchbreak this room would be perfect! we have sofas in our office too, but nobody do use it. I like the blue-white-wood colorsheme, it's just as calm as I need for making a good job.

dutch cloth-market

a dutch cloth-market
is a very famous market for all kind of clothes and I was searching for cloth with very small patterns, that are not little flowers. I was successful, but I couldn't buy 20 cm as usual, but 50 or 100 cm. so I had not enough money in my bag and I have too big pieces, but only three instead of some more I expected to buy.
At home I realized that one cloth is very good for the floor and made a scene with it in my lekman-box.

studio apartment

this week I was in our museum-shop for the first time, I bought a few art-postcards, this post shows one of gerrit rietveld.
my sweet katimus gave me a few-fleamarket finds, p.e. the lamp on the nightstand.
I found a few jean-chairs I really like on ebay, but I think I will paint them white to have more possibilities to combine.
It is a very new idea (actually from today) to put my 1:16 furniture in the big house. the whole way home (now it's autumn and I take the underground instead of the bike) I planned in my mind this studio apartment.
I think it's great that I found another use for the skating rink from Callsmall and the corner seat (belongs to the tilestove).
Oh, and the nightstands are cream jars. I searched for lundby-nightstands but didn't found the ones I like yet.

ice-shower

I tried to find a shower for my bathroom, but they are to expansive for me.
I wanted to paint the bathroom in a colour, that fits to my brown and beige bathroom, but I wasn't in the mood to paint it once again.
At the weekend I found this box for an cola-lemon ice (calippo shot) and decided to apart the bathroom-items from the tiles-unit. I was succesfull, nothing is broken.
there is little bit work to do, but this is the way I like a bathroom.
